Saint Leo University Invites Prospective Students, Families to February 28 Open House
Day-long events offer an immersive look at academics, athletics, and student life
ST. LEO, Fla. (Jan. 29, 2026) – Saint Leo University will host its Spring Open House on Saturday, February 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., welcoming prospective high school and transfer students and their families. Attendees will explore the university’s academic offerings, student life, and the admissions process, while experiencing the Saint Leo community firsthand.
This Spring Open House marks the final opportunity for students who have not yet been admitted to visit campus ahead of Fall Semester 2026 enrollment decisions. Advance registration is required by Friday, February 20, and is available online at www.saintleo.edu/student-experience/visit.
Students attending an open house at Saint Leo University for the first time who plan to enroll for Fall 2026 are also eligible for a $250 scholarship.
“Choosing a university is about more than programs and paperwork, it’s about finding a place where you belong,” said Dr. Jim Burkee, president of Saint Leo University. “This immersive event lets students experience our welcoming community and see how we support them every step of the way. At Saint Leo, we meet students where they are in a rapidly changing digital world, offering a values-based education rooted in excellence, innovation, and service.”
The morning will begin with a welcome session and keynote address, followed by a resource fair where students and families can connect with faculty, staff, and student leaders to explore academic programs, career pathways, and campus resources. Guided campus and specialty tours will showcase academic spaces, residence halls, student life facilities, the historic Abbey Church, and the Wellness Center. Throughout the event, prospective students can also meet one-on-one with admissions counselors to discuss applications, financial aid, and next steps toward enrollment.
Later that day, the excitement continues with Lions Bash, a high-energy, family-friendly tailgate sponsored by AdventHealth Dade City. Open to the local community and free to attend, Lions Bash will feature free food, music, giveaways, inflatables, carnival-style games. Prospective students and families also have opportunities to meet coaches and athletics representatives at the event, enjoy a basketball double-header, and visit a deposit station for next-step enrollment actions.
