FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Day for Saint Leo Returns April 9 with Expanded Focus on Service, Community Impact
New volunteer opportunities invite the community to give back during the 24-hour giving campaign

ST. LEO, Fla. (March 27, 2026) – Day for Saint Leo, the university’s annual 24-hour giving campaign, returns April 9 with an expanded emphasis on service. For the first time, the university is opening its volunteer projects to the broader community, inviting members of the public to give back alongside students, alumni, faculty, and staff in support of Saint Leo’s mission of service.
The new volunteer opportunities are designed to make a meaningful impact both on and off campus during Day for Saint Leo. Flexible shifts of at least one hour are available, and volunteers can sign up online at grasshoppersignup.com/respond/168a888f-f58e-46bb-ba81-395af33a00f8.
“Day for Saint Leo is more than a fundraiser. It’s a reflection of our commitment to service and the shared responsibility we have to uplift others,” said Stephen Kubasek, vice president of university advancement. “Whether through giving or volunteering, every act of generosity helps expand opportunities for our students and strengthens the communities we serve.”
Student volunteers will receive a $10 credit to donate to the Day for Saint Leo cause of their choice, reinforcing the university’s commitment to service as a core value. In addition, the top ten university organizations with the most unique donors by the close of the 24-hour giving campaign will receive a portion of a $25,000 challenge gift.
Beginning April 9, donations can be made throughout the 24-hour event at giving.saintleo.edu to support more than 40 programs, including scholarships, academic programs, and student life experiences.
The 2025 giving campaign generated more than 1,000 contributions in just 24 hours, becoming the most successful giving effort in the university’s history. Organizers aim to build on that success this year by increasing engagement and expanding service participation across the Saint Leo community.
