Pasco OKs $235M+ in Disaster Recovery Infrastructure Projects
~~Better Future turns planning into projects you can see, use and rely on~~
PASCO COUNTY, FL ---- Pasco’s Board of County Commissioners approves $235.4 million dollars – including more than $147M in federal disaster relief funding – for the Better Future Infrastructure & Mitigation Program (IMP). This second phase of Pasco’s Better Future Program invests in 20 countywide projects to repair damage from Hurricanes Idalia, Helene and Milton and to strengthen our resiliency for future disasters.
“This is what building a Better Future looks like,” says Pasco Board of County Commissioners Chair Jack Mariano. “This nearly quarter-billion-dollar generational investment is a remarkable chance to turn recovery into resilience – reducing future risk, protecting our neighborhoods and making sure Pasco is stronger and better prepared when the next storm comes.”
This major recovery investment focuses on three priorities in Pasco:
- Critical Infrastructure | 9 Projects | $122.3M
- Public Facilities | 6 Projects | $67.6M
- Mitigation/Cost Share | 5 Projects | $31.1M
Pasco’s Infrastructure & Mitigation Program is the second of several programs designed to help our community recover with nearly $586 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery program.
