New Watering Guidelines Issued for Pasco County
~~Dry conditions trigger a revised water shortage declaration~~
PASCO COUNTY, FL ---- Pasco County urges everyone to conserve water and follow new watering guidelines as dry conditions trigger a modified Phase III “Extreme Water Shortage.” The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s order is in effect April 3 through July 1, 2026. Under the revised rules, irrigation windows for all water sources are now shorter.
Updated Watering Windows:
- Potable, well, or surface water: 8 p.m. – 4 a.m.
- Reclaimed water: Midnight – 8 a.m.
- HOAs: May not require landscape replacement or pressure washing for aesthetic purposes.
“Reducing outdoor water use and irrigating efficiently is one of the most effective ways to conserve water,” says Pasco County Utilities Customer Information & Services Director Sandra Anderson. “Regardless of your water source, you can only water once a week on your assigned day.”
